cups-driver-gutenprint software package provides transitional dummy package for gutenprint printer driver, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install cups-driver-gutenprint
cups-driver-gutenprint is installed in your system.
Make ensure the cups-driver-gutenprint package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep cups-driver-gutenprint *
You will get with cups-driver-gutenprint package name, version, architecture and description in a table
